Is it possible to have a rematch of England v Germany?

There won’t be a rematch in the sense of “rematch for WC 2010” Germany vs. England. There will be matches off tournaments between England and Germany, like there have been before.
A not given goal during a football game or a general “wrong decision” by a ref, is no reason in football/soccer for a “re-match”. The only reasons for a rematch can be weather or misbehaviour of fans/audience (e.g. storming the field in masses, fights etc.), but this could also result in a penalty for the team the fans belonged to.
The idea of seeing “who is the better team” is only theoretical possible, because aspects what influences a game from the background will never be the same. E.g. tournaments do only count in many countries, while a friendly rematch is just for testing purposes. So the motivation/pressure etc. of the coaches, players etc. won’t be the same. Even not always the same players are available so more time has passed (on international football) to play that game. So if the rematch could be in 5 month, Germany will play e.g. with Ballack, England again with Green.
Both will have a huge influence on the game.
Next to the field won’t be the same and mostly in one of the team’s home-countries where another audience, weather conditions etc. will be.
So the only constant you would have in any rematch would be:
It is country A vs. country B.
In the world of football – so religious and nationalistic it sometimes is – that reason is not enough… But a friendly – match you will see – but it will never be the same, like the game you saw in South Africa during the WC 2010. From the moment the game starts - you will never play the same game.
